Cherie Hu is an award-winning writer and researcher whose work focuses on innovation in the global music business. She studied at Harvard University and the no-less-prestigious Juilliard School. Hu oversees the music and technology newsletter Water & Music, and has also written hundreds of articles for media outlets like Billboard, Forbes, NPR, Music Business Worldwide, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone. She has participated as an expert commentator on CNBC, CGTN America and SiriusXM; as a guest speaker at institutions such as New York University, Northeastern University, and the University of Oregon; and as a moderator, panelist and keynote speaker at more than 30 conferences around the world. She is currently working on a book for Bloomsbury on the parallels between independent music careers and technological entrepreneurship.
