The Portuguese band swims like a fish in water in the same bottomless depths in which an Ian Curtis would, (un)happily. With one foot in British post-punk and the other in German kraut, there are those who say that their music takes up the gloomiest side of bands like Cabaret Voltaire. But also detectable in it is the indelible imprint of those compatriot bands that were part of a Portuguese label worthy of praise, Ama Romanta, almost Lisbon’s answer to the no-less-legendary Factory Records.
