The Wall Street Journal once described this Mexican band as, “Trying to define their music does them an injustice. It’s noisy, challenging, incredibly imaginative, sophisticated, fun, and wild. It sounds like music composed by Albert Ayler, performed by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and conducted by Frank Zappa.” They also bear a resemblance to our cherished B-52’s. In 2023, they’re releasing their anticipated LP, “After Destruction”, a conceptual album in an era awash with meaningless singles. Classy, even in that respect.
