‘Sendas Cambembas’ and ‘Viernes de Bachata’, two EPs as refreshing as they are effervescent that came our way this year, and to a lesser extent the earlier ‘Tres Carmelitas’, released in 2021, have introduced society to the latest sensation to emerge from the South. A combo that seems like the Andalusian answer to such celebrated transoceanic proposals as the Colombian Meridian Brothers, or the 2.0 update of their compatriots Pony Bravo. That is, a revival of folklore and Latin rhythms mixed with as much precision as devotion.
