Lucía Juan Casamayor called cutrepop (lame pop) that intimate way of making and interpreting songs falling between the intimacy of DYI and a certain formal classicism that, some voices say, reminds us of Jeanette herself. But after those first and delicious debuts that were “Un vermú contigo” (A vermouth with you) and “Amigos pixelados” (Pixelated friends), lately the Madrilenian has demonstrated, with songs like “Me gustaría gustarte” (I’d like for you to like me) and “No me dejan” (They don’t let me), her delightful collaboration with Ganges, that there is much more pop than anything cutre here.
