Despite the youth of Jazz Rodríguez Bueno and Carla Pérez Vas (the systole and diastole of Mourn), anyone would swear that the grunge explosion hit them right in the gut and soul, inevitably shaping their way of composing, marked by a type of existential urgency bathed in guitar distortion and eternal adolescent melodies. Their songs evoke and elicit the likes of the Fastbacks, The Vaselines, Bikini Kill, or a primitive Sleater-Kinney. Theirs is punk-pop without any sweeteners, executed with detached passion and without taking their foot off the gas. #punk
