RADIO HUACHACA & JOSÉ GUAPACHÁ (CL/VE)

Presentado por Chilemúsica / Marmaduke / SoundRoutes

Sebastián Orellana, now embarking on his new project Radio Huachaca, together with the Sevillians Marcos Padilla (O Sister!) and Daniel Abad (Mansilla y los Espías), boasts a noted background thanks to his work with La BIG Rabia, the Chilean cross-border trash-blues duo that ended up in Spain until its recent breakup. The Venezuelan José Guapachá has been singing boleros since he was 11 years old. An endurance musician who stays up later than a werewolf under a full moon, he recently raised eyebrows by stepping into a recording studio along with his new partner Mr. Orellana. Teaming up, the two form a tandem of “regenerators” of Latin American folk music, a Seville-based duo capable of forging an exciting link between classicism and contemporaneity through a collection of gooey boleros that would delight Javier Corcobado himself. #bolero
