Romperayo boasts some of the most interesting talents in Colombian music: drummer Pedro Ojeda, a regular in Los Pirañas, Frente Cumbiero and Ondatrópica, in the rhythm section; Eblis Álvarez, from the indispensable Meridian Brothers, who is in charge of samplers; while Ricardo Gallo does his thing on the synths, and Juan Manuel Toro thumps the electric bass. Together they take us on a lysergic trip through the tropical folklore of their country, reinventing cumbia and the sounds of the legendary 70s.
